ID: Q221848

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When sending e-mail with a scheduled connection, only one item is sent per dial-up session.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you have Outlook configured to use the Internet E-mail transport, and set to send and receive every X minutes, when Outlook checks for new mail it may send only one item from the Outbox, regardless of how many items are to be sent.

To send all messages during a dial-up session, use either of the following methods:

  • On the Tools menu, point to Send and Receive and click to select the sending mail account.

  • Convert to the Internet Mail Only configuration to fully utilize connection scheduling.

For additional information about switching to the Internet Mail Only configuration, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
