SYMPTOMSWhen you move an item to another folder by selecting a folder from the Most Recently Used (MRU) list, the item may seem to disappear. CAUSEThe Personal Folders (.pst) file which contained the target folder has been closed and no longer appears in your Folder List. RESOLUTIONOpen the closed .pst file to recover the moved item. If the.pst file is no longer needed, delete it to keep from accidentally moving items to it. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONMoving an item to a folder contained in a .pst file records the folder's name in the MRU list. If you subsequently close the .pst file, the folder's name remains on the MRU list. If you again select the folder's name from the MRU list to move another item, the item is moved to that folder in the closed .pst file, and will seem to disappear since the folder is no longer displayed in your Folder List.
