OL2000: (CW) Always Use Local Calendar Setting Turned Off on Terminal Server

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

The calendar option to Always use local calendar is available in Outlook when running on the Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, however, all offline settings are turned off.


CAUSE

All offline folder (.ost) functions are turned off when Outlook runs on Terminal Server. This design feature improves performance.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
