Unable to open your default mail folders. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was unable to load the information services Pstprx.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured.

CAUSE

The original profile used with Outlook 97 contains information that has been changed in the Outlook 2000 account configuration.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

When Outlook 2000 Internet Mail Only is set up, the profile (account) information is migrated from the existing Outlook 97 profile. The profile is renamed "Microsoft Internet Mail Settings." These settings are not converted back when Outlook 97 is reinstalled.
