OL2000: Unable to Delete the Outlook Icon on Terminal Server

SYMPTOMS

If you log onto Microsoft Windows Terminal Server and attempt to delete the Outlook icon from the desktop, you receive the following message:

'Microsoft Outlook' cannot be stored in the Recycle Bin.

Are you sure you want to remove the Outlook icon from your desktop? After you remove this icon from your desktop you can still access the files in this folder: <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office.

Are you sure you want to delete 'Microsoft Outlook' from your desktop?

When you click Yes to delete the icon, nothing happens.

CAUSE

You do not have permissions to remove the icon.

RESOLUTION

Contact your Terminal Server administrator about removing the icon.
