OL2000: (CW) Messages Sent One at a Time with Auto Dal-up Connection

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When Outlook is configured to dial periodically to check for messages, it may send only one message at a time for each dial-up session, even though multiple messages may be waiting in the Outbox.


RESOLUTION

To to send all messages waiting in the Outbox in one dial-up session, on the Tools menu, click Send/Receive to initiate a manual dial-up session.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.


MORE INFORMATION

The behavior described in the Symptoms section above does not occur with the Internet Mail Only installation of Outlook.
