CAUSES

You may need to change the security zone setting for attachments.
You may be running the iRiS AntiVirus software.

WHAT TO TRY

Change the Attachment Security Zone Settings

To change your attachment security zone setting, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

  2. Click the Security tab.

  3. Click Attachment Security.

  • High security (recommended for all users) will warn you of potential security issues with attachments.

  • None (not recommended) offers no protection from potential security problems. Use this setting only if you are sure all messages you receive are safe.

Deactivate the iRiS AntiVirus Software

Deactivate the iRiS Software Limited, AntiVirus program. In a reported incident, the problem message would still not open but other messages of this type, received after the anti-virus software was turned off, had no problem.
