NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation. SYMPTOMS
If you attempt to link a file to a contact while viewing the contact using the Address Book command in Microsoft Word, you may receive the following error: NOTE: The memory address may vary depending on the information service you use. Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 You will not be able to continue in Word without forcing the program to quit. Any unsaved work may be lost. You may then see the following error: Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Mail users see the following error prior to the "action could not be completed" error: Internet Mail users may receive the following message initially: This operation cannot be completed; to close the dialog box the Contact form must be dismissed. Subsequent attempts to perform the same operation will result in a similar error. RESOLUTIONIf you want to link a file to a contact, use Outlook rather than through the contact as viewed in Word.
