OL2000 "Search All Text in the Contact" Does Not Find All Items in Contacts Folder

SYMPTOMS

If you do a simple search in the Contacts folder using Search all text in the contact, and you use a keyword from fields other than Name, Company, Addresses, and Category, no results are found.


CAUSE

The check box Search all text in the contact gives an impression that all contact fields will be searched, but in fact, only the Name, Company Addresses and Category fields are searched.


WORKAROUND

Use the Advanced Find command on the Tools menu, to perform more complex searches in the Contacts folder.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
