OL2000: (CW) Public Calendar Cancellations Result in Insufficient Permissions After Folder Deletion

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When attempting to delete a public calendar folder, you may get the following error message:

You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object. See the folder contact or your system administrator.


WORKAROUND

Use the Microsoft Exchange Client (Exchng32.exe), and log on as the owner of the folder to delete the unwanted public folder.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
