NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation. SYMPTOMSIf you use Find Items in the Address Book to search on the Alias Name field, you may not receive an exact match even though the alias you searched for is valid in the Global Address List (GAL). You may receive a choice of several user names that start with the text string you typed into the Alias Name field. CAUSEThe search is a prefix search so it lists all people whose alias starts with the text string you typed into the Alias Name field. This is a design feature so that the search is not too restrictive. RESOLUTIONTo work around this, type an equal sign (=) in front of your search string in the Alias Name field. This will force a restrictive search on the text string. Additional query words: OL2K
