OL2000: Multiple Dial Up Connections Do Not Work on Terminal Server

SYMPTOMS

If you use Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, and Outlook is configured to dial your modem to send and receive e-mail, you may receive the following error message when you attempt to make the dial-up connection:

The port is already been used by another device or the port is not properly configured.


CAUSE

Terminal Server is not designed to have multiple e-mail clients sharing a modem for their dial-up connection.
