SYMPTOMSIf you use the Folder Assistant to create a rule to return mail sent to a public folder, and then copy the folder design to apply the rule to another folder, you will subsequently receive the following error when you attempt to run the Rules Wizard: The error generally occurs once you respond to the dialog box asking whether server or client rules are to be kept, but the error may occur before the client/server rules dialog box is displayed. RESOLUTIONDelete the Folder Assistant rule using the Inbox Assistant. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. MORE INFORMATIONIMPORTANT: Outlook 2000 is designed to use the Rules Wizard exclusively. The procedures referenced below are provided as a means to resolve issues with problem rules created previously with the Inbox Assistant. Microsoft does not support the continued use of the Inbox Assistant in a Microsoft Exchange Server environment with Outlook 2000.
