SYMPTOMS

When you open an Outlook item that was created in a different folder and moved to the current folder, you receive the error message:

Some objects contain viruses that can be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that this object is from a trustworthy source.

Do you trust this embedded object?

If you click Yes, this is followed by:

This item can no longer be found. It may have been deleted or moved.

NOTE: The first message only appears if your attachment security is set to High.

CAUSE

When you move an item of one type to a folder of a different type using the Edit menu, the original item is permanently deleted.

RESOLUTION

Drag the item to the folder you want.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
