  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

NOTE: This article discusses complex scripts functionality. Complex scripts functionality is available when you use the Office Language Settings tool to enable a language, such as Arabic or Hebrew, that requires this functionality. For more information about multilingual features, click Microsoft <your Office product> Help on the Help menu, type multilingual features in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics returned.

SYMPTOMS

Paragraph direction buttons in the toolbar of an HTML message are unavailable, preventing you from switching paragraph direction in the message body.

CAUSE

You will see this if you custom install Microsoft Office 2000 on Microsoft Windows Arabic or Hebrew language versions, choose not to upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, and if Internet Explorer 4.01 with Complex Scripts support is installed. Internet Explorer 4.01 does not support UI programmability with host applications.
