OL2000: Message Recall Fails When Sent from Outlook 98 to Outlook 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to recall a message sent from Outlook 98 to a recipient who uses Outlook 2000, the recall fails.

CAUSE

Outlook messages use a special message format to indicate the recall message. This format changed in Outlook 2000 such that it does not recognize the previous version.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
