SUMMARY

The Outlook Help topic, "Use the Microsoft At Work fax program with Outlook" incorrectly states that you can obtain the At Work fax program from the Microsoft Office Web site.

If you click Microsoft Outlook Help on the Help menu, and then search for "At Work fax" one of your choices is the "Use the Microsoft At Work fax program with Outlook" Help topic. This Help topic says:

To use the Microsoft At Work fax program with Microsoft Outlook 2000, you need to download the Microsoft At Work fax program from the Microsoft Office Web site.

On the Help menu, click Office on the Web.
This statement is incorrect. When you click Office on the Web, you jump to the Office Update Web site, but the At Work fax program is not available.

You can install the At Work fax program (Awfax.exe) from either the Microsoft Windows 98 or Windows 95 compact disc.

Installing on Windows 95

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.


  2. Click Add/Remove Programs, and then click the Windows Setup tab.


  3. In the Components list, click Microsoft Fax. If you have not previously installed Microsoft Exchange Server service in your user profile, Windows automatically installs it at this time.


  4. Click OK.


Installing on Windows 98

  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.


  2. In the Named box, type Awfax.


  3. In the Look in list, click your CD-ROM drive, click to select the Include subfolders check box, and then click Find Now.


  4. In the search results, double-click Awfax.exe for your language, and follow the installation wizard instructions.


Restart your computer after completing the fax setup. If you receive a FIXMAPI error message, choose to fix MAPI. To send a fax message, on the Actions menu, click New Fax, and follow the wizard.

If you had At Work fax installed prior to installing Outlook 2000, then Outlook will use the versions of At Work fax that came with Windows 95 or 98.
