OL2000: Unread Subfolder Items Not Reflected in Parent Folder

SUMMARY

Upper level folders do not reflect the number of unread items in the sub folders. If there are no unread items in a folder and there are unread items in a subfolder, the parent folder is not bold, indicating unread items, nor does it show in parenthesis the number of unread items in the subfolder.

The number of unread items in a folder is represented by a number in parenthesis next to the folder. The folder name is also bold in the Folder List.

Outlook does not display the number of unread items in subfolders, in the upper level folder. For example, if you have a rule that moves messages to a subfolder of your Inbox, the number next to the Inbox will reflect the number of unread messages in the Inbox and will not include the number of messages in the subfolder of the Inbox.
