OL2000: No Progress Indicator While Importing Schedule+ Files

SYMPTOMS

When you import Microsoft Schedule+ files into Outlook, there is no visual indication of the progress.


RESOLUTION

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).

Setting the following registry key allows you to display a progress bar indicator when importing Schedule+ files:

To add the registry key:

  1. Click Start, and click Run.


  2. In the Open box, type regedit and click OK.


  3. Locate the following key in the registry:


  4. HKEY_Current User\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Import
  5. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key. Name the key Import.


  6. With the Import key selected, on the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. Assign the following values:

       Value Name: ImportUILevel
       Value:      0 = no progress indicator (default)<BR/>
                   1 = show progress  
  8. On the Registry menu, click Exit.
