OL2000: (CW) Icon Does Not Change to Open Envelope After Message Is Read

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

After you read an incoming e-mail message, the envelope icon may not change from a closed to an open envelope.


CAUSE

This problem was reported for messages containing attachments when your Microsoft Exchange Server uses Network Associates' Groupshield Anti-Virus software version 4.0.2.


RESOLUTION

You can still determine a message's read/unread state by noticing whether the subject is displayed in bold font (unread) or regular font (read).
