XCLN: Message Size Limit May Cause an Error

SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft Outlook after synchronizing offline folders, and you go online, you may get the following error message:

Offline rules are turned on. To turn them off, check the appropriate items below:

Turn off Big Item Rule

Move Big Items Back to Inbox

Press OK or Cancel


CAUSE

The message size limit is turned on.

To turn the message size limit on or off:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. In the Options dialog box, click the Mail Services tab, and then click the Offline Folder Settings button.


  3. In the Offline Folders Settings dialog box, click Download Options.


  4. To turn the message size limit off, click to clear the Don't download messages larger than X KB option. To turn the message size limit on, click to select the Don't download messages larger than X KB option.
