OL2000: (IMO) Messages Aren't Sent Immediately in Internet Mail Only and SPA

ID: Q243670

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed.

SYMPTOMS

When using the Outlook with the Send messages immediately flag set, messages will stay in the Outbox until the user clicks Send/Receive. This happens only when the client is configured with Log on using Secure Password Authentication selected. If Outlook is configured with a cached account and password, the message is sent right away.
