OL2000: (CW) From Field Missing in AutoPreview of Mail Items

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate or Workgroup" if you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

When you reply to, or forward a message contained in a personal folder, the From field is blank when viewing the message using AutoPreview.

CAUSE

You selected the Advanced E-mail option, In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message, and you are replying to a message you moved to a personal folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The From field appears correctly when the message is opened or displayed in the preview pane.
