OL98: (CW) Free/busy Time Not Available for Some Attendees

ID: Q180480

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 98

SUMMARY

If a profile contains multiple mail services, free/busy time in the Meeting Planner is only available from one of the services. The order in which recipient addresses are processed determines which users' free/busy times are available. However, if Microsoft Exchange Server is one of the installed services, it will take precedence over the other services.

MORE INFORMATION

If Microsoft Exchange Server is one the services in a profile, free/busy times will only be available with users on the Microsoft Exchange Server.

Outlook allows free/busy time to be read from only one source. In a profile containing multiple mail services other than Microsoft Exchange Server, you can specify the service from which users' free/busy times are available. To specify which service is used, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools Menu, click Services and click the Delivery tab.

  2. In the area "Recipient addresses are processed by these information services in the following order:", move the service you want users' free/busy time to be available from to the top of the list, and Click OK.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Create a profile that contains both Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Mail.

  2. Start Outlook and click Calendar or contacts.

  3. On the Actions menu, click Plan a Meeting.

  4. Add some attendees from both Mail and Microsoft Exchange.

Note that you see free/busy time for Exchange users only and not all meeting attendees.
