OL98: (CW) Messages Marked Private Not Visible in Secondary

ID: Q181583

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 98

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

E-mail messages that you mark as Private are not visible in the Inbox of a secondary mailbox, although the unread message counter for the Inbox indicates that you have new, unread mail.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, choose one of the following methods.

Method 1

Do not mark any messages that you need to send to a shared mailbox with the Private sensitivity.

Method 2

Create a separate profile that uses only the second mailbox.
