ID: Q184074

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 98

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Outlook 98, when viewing tasks in the Simple List view in Outlook Today, you cannot sort them in due date order. The Today's Tasks view does sort tasks for the current day.

CAUSE

Tasks are read from the Tasks folder into the Outlook Today view based on the order that they were created. Due dates are displayed, but once in this view they cannot be resorted.

RESOLUTION

This behavior is by design. The Outlook Today view is displayed using predefined Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) code.

To sort Tasks in the Today's Task view of Outlook Today, follow these steps:

  1. On the Go menu, click Outlook Today.

  2. Click Options and then click to select Today[ASCII 146]s Tasks.
