OL98: (IMO) Blank Page Printed Instead of Received Fax

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, on the Help menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Internet Mail Only" if you have the Internet Mail Only option installed.

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Outlook 98, when you try to print a fax that you received using Symantec WinFax Starter Edition to certain printers in the Hewlett- Packard (HP) DeskJet and Office Jet line, or the Canon Bubble Jet family, a blank page results.

This problem has been reported to occur with the following HP printers:


 HP 660C               HP 692c           HP 693C

 HP 670C               HP 694C           HP 1000C

 HP 682                HP 870cse         HP OfficeJet Pro 1150C/Cse

 HP 820C               HP 850C           HP855c and 855cx1 
This problem has been reported to occur with the following Canon printer:

 BJC-70                BJC-240c 


RESOLUTION

Method 1

You may be able to successfully print received faxes on HP printers using the HP 550C driver provided with Microsoft Windows 95 or on Canon printers by installing older drivers from your Windows 95 CD.

Method 2

Upgrade to the most recent driver version for the listed HP printers. To obtain an updated driver, consult the Hewlett Packard Customer Care Home Page at the following Web site:
