NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation. SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Outlook 98, when you attempt to send or receive an e-mail message, you may receive the following error: MAPISP32 caused an invalid page fault in module INETCOMM.DLL at 0157:5e.In some cases the page fault may occur in module Kernel32.dll and the address given may be different. CAUSEThis error message may occur if you install the Windows Sockets (Winsock) 2 Update, but do not update Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) using the Vipup20.exe and Vtcpup20.exe files. RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, run the Vipup20.exe and Vtcpup20.exe files from
the Microsoft Software Library. To do this, follow these steps:
<drive>:\<windows>\ws2bakupWhere <drive> is the drive letter where the Windows folder is located, and <windows> is the name of the folder in which Windows is installed.
