NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation. SYMPTOMSWhen you send mail from the Microsoft Outlook 98 Corporate/Workgroup installation using the HTML format, to a user who is using MSN, The Microsoft Network Online service version 2.5, you find that the formatting is being displayed as plain text. Additionally, any graphics elements such as pictures or backgrounds are included as attachments. CAUSEThis issue seems to occur only with MSN 2.5. The MIME information in the mail message is not interpreted correctly at the receiving end. RESOLUTIONTo achieve the best result sending mail to recipients on MSN 2.5, use Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 98.
