SUMMARY
Microsoft Outlook 98 provides an integrated tool for migrating mail
messages and addresses from Netscape Mail, a component of Netscape
Navigator 3.0x, and Netscape Messenger, a component of Netscape
Communicator 4.0x.
MORE INFORMATIONConverting During SetupOutlook performs a silent conversion of mail items during the Active Setup procedure. If Active Setup detects that Netscape Mail or Netscape Messenger is installed on the computer, Active Setup lists the Netscape programs that are installed and offers to convert the mail and addresses. If you click Yes, the conversion completes without further intervention. Converted mail is imported into the Folder List. Addresses are imported in the Windows Address Book.Converting After Running SetupIf you choose not to convert Netscape mail items during Active Setup, you can use the Outlook Import And Export Wizard to perform this operation at any time after installing Outlook. The Netscape program must still be installed on the computer. To import Netscape Mail or Netscape Messenger items, follow these steps.
NOTE: In each of the above scenarios the conversion will only occur if the Netscape product is installed on the computer. This applies to conversions done during Active Setup and through the Import and Export process. REFERENCESNetscape Navigator, Netscape Mail, and Netscape Communicator are manufactured by Netscape Communications Corporation, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
