SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Outlook 98, when you change the font settings for Composing, Reading, Replying, and Forwarding e-mail, it does not apply when you use Microsoft Word 97 as your default mail format. CAUSEThe font characteristics changes for Composing, Reading, Replying, and Forwarding e-mail only apply to Plain Text, HTML, and Microsoft Outlook Rich Text messages. RESOLUTIONWith Microsoft Word selected as your default e-mail editor, open a new message and change the default font. MORE INFORMATION
Changing the default fonts used for Composing, Reading, Replying, and
Forwarding e-mail, does not apply when Microsoft Word is used as your
e-mail editor. Word bases all of its settings on document templates and
does not use Outlook settings. The default document template used when
Microsoft Word is your default e-mail editor is email.dot.
