SYMPTOMSWhen you try to install Microsoft Outlook 98 from the files that are downloaded by Active Setup, you may receive one of the following error messages:
-or-
-or- This problem occurs if you originally installed Microsoft Outlook 98 from the Internet and try to run Outlook Setup from either of the following folders, either as a reinstallation, or as an installation to another computer: C:\Outlook 98 Setup CAUSE
Active Setup only downloads the files required to install on the current
computer with its current configuration. This reduces the length of time it
takes to download Outlook. These files are machine and configuration
specific, and are separate from the cabinet files that Outlook uses for
installation.
RESOLUTIONIf you need to reinstall Outlook but you do not have the CD, you must call Microsoft Outlook Product Support at (425) 635-7031 for information. Developers or administrators wanting to create a custom installation of Outlook should use the Outlook Deployment Kit.
