OL98: Error Message "The Topic Cannot be Found" When Enabling Advanced Security in German Version

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Outlook 98

SYMPTOMS

The following error may appear in the German language version of Outlook, when you enable advanced security:

Das Thema is nicht vorhanden. Fordern Sie beim Software-Hersteller die aktuelle Hilfedatei an (129)

If you ignore the message, the process will finish without any further problem. Advanced security will be fully operational.

This issue only occurs with the German version of Outlook 98.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
