SYMPTOMSYou are attempting to attach a file to a mail message in the German version of Microsoft Outlook 98 and receive the following error message:
CAUSEYou are attempting to attach a file that is in a nested folder location with a complex path. A complex path is defined as one greater than 128 characters and includes long names in some folders. RESOLUTIONTo successfully attach the file, follow these steps:
A supported fix that corrects this problem in the German version of Outlook 98 is now available from Microsoft, but has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. If you are not severely affected by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next release of Microsoft Outlook. To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix.
