SYMPTOMSWhen you reply to an e-mail message using the Internet Mail Enhancement Patch for Microsoft Outlook 97 (IMEP) with Microsoft Word 97 set as the e- mail editor (WordMail) and Reply Ticking on, the original text is not marked with angle brackets (>). CAUSEThe AutoFormat feature in WordMail replaces the angle brackets (>) with a paragraph indent when the message is opened. Outlook cannot override WordMail's AutoFormat feature. MORE INFORMATIONThe Internet Mail service, provided by the IMEP, allows you to mark original text in an e-mail reply with a special character. This character precedes each line of original text and is usually a greater than sign, a colon, or a vertical line (>, :, |). "Reply Ticking" or "Ticks" is the name commonly used for this reply convention. Additional query words:
