OL97: Source of the User Name for the Header/Footer

ID: Q167286

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 97

SUMMARY

When you print from Microsoft Outlook, you can print the user name in the header or footer of the page. Outlook gets this information from the profile that is currently being used.

MORE INFORMATION

When printing a report from Outlook, you can add predefined fields to the header and footer of your page. One of these fields is the user name; many of the reports in Outlook include this field by default. Outlook looks at the e-mail services in the current profile to determine what to use for the user name. If a profile does not contain any e-mail services, the user name field will be blank.

If there is more than one e-mail service in a profile, the one the name is taken from depends on which e-mail services are present. Certain services take precedence over others. For example, if your profile includes Microsoft Exchange Server, the user name from your Exchange mailbox will be used regardless of what other services are in the profile.
