Outlook 97, version 8.01, which ships with Microsoft Exchange Server, version 5.0, does not include a license for the Lotus cc:Mail transport service. RESOLUTION
If you have Microsoft Office 97, or Outlook 97, version 8.0, you have a
licensed Lotus cc:Mail transport service. Use the cc:Mail service from the
Office 97 or Outlook 97, version 8.0, ValuPacks with Outlook 97,
version 8.01.

The Lotus cc:Mail service is licensed for distribution by Microsoft from
Transend Corporation, 225 Merson Street, Palo Alto, CA 94301. Microsoft
Office and Outlook 97, version 8.0, include a licensed copy of Transend
Corporation's Lotus cc:Mail transport service. Outlook 97, version 8.01,
which ships with Exchange Server, version 5.0, does not include the cc:Mail
service license.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97 version 8.01 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Outlook 97 version 8.02 for Windows. Additional query words:
