SUMMARY

The More Information section of this article contains the complete text of the Outlook.prf file that ships with Microsoft Outlook 97. This file is located in the Office folder on the Microsoft Office 97 CD-ROM and the Microsoft Outlook 97 CD-ROM. Your version of this file may vary slightly depending on which version of Outlook you have. Setup puts a copy of this file in the Windows folder on your hard disk.

Administrators can customize the Outlook.prf file before installing Outlook, or after installing but before the user starts Outlook for the first time. Administrators can also use Outlook.prf in conjunction with Newprof.exe to automate the creation of messaging profiles. A unique Outlook.prf file is required for every unique messaging profile.
