OL97: Accept, Decline, Tentative, Missing on Meeting Request

ID: Q176795

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 97

SYMPTOMS

Meeting requests sent from Microsoft Outlook using the Lotus cc:Mail transport may not have the Accept, Decline, and Tentative buttons available. Instead, the recipient receives a plain e-mail message.

CAUSE

The cc:Mail transport is set to send messages in text-only format.

RESOLUTION

Change the cc:Mail transport to send messages in Rich Text Format (RTF).

Change the cc:Mail Transport to RTF

  1. On the Tools menu, click Services.

  2. Click to select Lotus cc:Mail and then click Properties.

  3. On the Delivery tab, click to select "Send using Microsoft Exchange rich text format." This attaches a Transport-Neutral Encapsulation Format (TNEF) file with outgoing messages.

Meeting request messages will now have Accept, Decline, and Tentative buttons.
