OL97: Hpbla2.dll Error Printing Contact Address Cards

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print address cards from your Contacts folder, you receive an error in the Hpbla2.dll file and Outlook stops responding.


CAUSE

This error is reported when using the Hewlett Packard (HP) LaserJet 6L printer with the Hpbla.drv printer driver.


RESOLUTION

Change the printer driver graphics mode to HP-GL/2.

To change the graphics mode:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Printers.


  2. Click to select the HP LaserJet 6L PCL printer icon, and on the File menu, click Properties.


  3. On the Print Quality tab, click to select Manual Settings, and then click Settings.


  4. In the Graphics Mode group, click to select HP-GL/2.


  5. Click OK twice to close.
