SYMPTOMSIf you format a line or object with a pattern fill, the line or object may print with a white fill. If you view the slide in Black And White view, the line or object displays with a grayscale pattern fill. CAUSEThis behavior occurs if you selected the Pure black and white check box in the Print dialog box before you printed the presentation. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem and print the object correctly, use either of the following methods. Method 1: Change the Object's Black and White BehaviorUse this method if your slide is one that would normally not print well in black and white (for example, it may have a dark gradient background and small, light-colored text.)
Method 2: Do Not Print With the Pure Black and White Option SelectedUse this method if your slide is one that would normally print well to a black and white printer (for example, it has a plain, light-colored background and dark text and graphics).

Black and White printing is a PowerPoint feature that you can use to print
a slide that would normally not print well to a black and white printer.
The Grayscale check box in the Print dialog box is selected by default, when you use a black and white printer. Your slide may not require this
option to print correctly in black and white.
