PPT2000: Animated GIF Doesn't Play During Slide Animations

SYMPTOMS

Animated Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) files are not animated until all other animated objects on the slide have completed their animation.

CAUSE

Animation effects are processor-intensive. To minimize the processing needs, Microsoft PowerPoint pauses all animated GIF files until the objects with animation effects have finished animating.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.This feature is under review and will be considered for inclusion in a future release.
