SYMPTOMSWhen you insert multiple clips from the Clip Gallery into a slide, you may receive the following error message: If you click Retry, the above message is repeated. If you click Cancel, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSEThe problem occurs when you use Clip Gallery to insert more than one movie or sound clip into a slide. After inserting a movie or sound clip, the Insert Sound dialog box may not be minimized to reveal the Microsoft PowerPoint message box asking: Do you want your sound to play automatically in the slide show? If not, it will play when you click it.The PowerPoint program remains busy until you respond to the hidden message. If you attempt to insert a second sound or movie clip before answering the message box, you receive the error messages described in the "Symptoms" section. NOTE: This problem does not occur if the first sound selection is a .wav file or the first movie clip is an .avi file. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, always respond to the PowerPoint message box after inserting each Clip Gallery clip. If the PowerPoint message box is not visible, minimize Clip Gallery to view the message box. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
