Make sure that the codecs installed by Office 2000 have been installed and registered properly. To do this, use one of the following methods. Install Windows Media ToolsIf Detect and Repair has not resolved the problem, install Windows Media Tools, (formerly known as Netshow Tools). The Windows Media tools (or NetShow Tools) should be installed on the system which is performing the encoding (which may not be the same machine running NetShow services). The Windows NT Server 4.0 must have Service Pack 3 or Service Pack 4 installed.
Modify the System.iniIf the issue is still unresolved, add the following lines to the [drivers32] section of the System.ini file:
