PPT2000: Saving as HTML Generates File and Folder

SUMMARY

When you save a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation as a web page, an Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) page is generated. A subfolder that contains supplemental content files is also created in the same folder as the HTML page. Both are necessary to successfully view or use the PowerPoint HTML presentation.


MORE INFORMATION

This folder will be named <Presentation>_files. Where <Presentation> is the name of your presentation. It is required for viewing the HTML page. If this file folder is deleted or moved, the HTML page will not open in PowerPoint or your Web browser.

If this folder is deleted or moved, you will receive the following error if you try to reopen the HTML presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint:

Problems came up in the following areas during load:
Missing file:\\<path>\<presentation>_files\pres.xml
If this folder is deleted or moved, you will receive an error similar to one of the following error messages when you open the PowerPoint HTML presentation in your Web browser.
Cannot find server - Microsoft Internet Explorer
The page cannot be displayed.

Netscape
Netscape is unable to find the file or directory named <path>\<presentation>_files\error.htm.

Check the name and try again.
