PPT2000: Error Message: No Audio Data Has Been Sent from the Input Device for Multiple Seconds...

SYMPTOMS

After starting an online presentation broadcast inside Microsoft PowerPoint, you may receive the following error message:

The Real Time Encoder has stopped. No audio data has been sent from the input device for multiple seconds. Typically, this indicates that the audio capture device driver has failed.
After you receive this error message, the audience no longer receives the presentation broadcast from the presenter.


CAUSE

This behavior may be caused by a sound driver that is outdated or incompatible with the NetShow Encoder.

This problem has been reported when using the Creative Sound Blaster 16 Driver Version: 2.03.0 Build 1 Copyright (c) 1994-1996 Creative Technology Ltd.


RESOLUTION

Download and install the most recent version of your sound driver. Please contact your sound card manufacturer for driver details.
