SYMPTOMSAfter you edit a PowerPoint 2000 presentation that is linked to an Excel worksheet or Word document, the following error message may appear when you quit PowerPoint and return to Excel 2000 or Word 2000:
CAUSEThis error occurs when Excel or Word requests the updated slide image from PowerPoint. If PowerPoint was closed and it is still partially in memory, the error message appears. This condition may also occur when system resources are low. WORKAROUNDTo prevent this error from occurring, it is recommended that you close the presentation but do not quit PowerPoint. With PowerPoint still open, the error is less likely to occur. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
