PPT2000: Unwanted Border Prints Around Notes Text

ID: Q226785

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you print Notes Pages from your PowerPoint presentation with the Pure black and white option selected, a box or outline may appear around the notes section. This border does not print when the Pure black and white option is not selected.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you print Notes Pages as Pure black and white, with the Background printing option selected in PowerPoint.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Turn Off Background Printing

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

  2. Click the Print tab.

  3. Click to clear the Background printing check box, and click OK.

  4. Print your Notes Pages again.

NOTE: When you turn on background printing, you can continue working in PowerPoint while you print a document. With background printing turned off, you must wait for your presentation to complete printing before you can work in PowerPoint again.

Method 2: Format the Notes Page

  1. On the View menu, click Notes Page.

  2. Select the notes text placeholder.

  3. On the Format menu, click Placeholder.

  4. In the Line Color list, re-select No Line. The Preview button should be available.

  5. Click Preview.

  6. Click OK.

  7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 for each Notes Page in your presentation.

  8. Print your Notes Pages again.

STATUS
