SYMPTOMSAfter you recover a presentation that has been saved in the HTML format through PowerPoint's Auto Recovery feature then save the recovered file and reopen it, you may find that hyperlinks to URLs no longer function. CAUSEHyperlinks to other files and URLs are stored differently in the HTML file output than it is in the native PowerPoint format. The auto recovery format for HTML files does not save this format correctly. When PowerPoint 2000 recovers the file, your hyperlinks may appear to be correct; however, the data for the hyperlinks is lost. WORKAROUNDSave the auto recovered files under a different name and do not overwrite the original file. In this way, you will not lose any existing information. You can copy slides from the recovered file to the original and have a guide to restoring the changes that were made. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. Additional query words:
