SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer to show a presentation that contains animated GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) images, the images do not appear animated. CAUSEThe PowerPoint Viewer included with PowerPoint 2000 is restricted to the capabilities of PowerPoint 97. PowerPoint 97 does not have the capability to play back animated GIF images that you have inserted into a presentation. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, save the presentation as an interactive and animated Web-based presentation. Then, place this presentation on either a CD-ROM or other removable media and view it with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
